Become a Member
Members of Soho Photo are part of a cooperative gallery with deep roots in the New York City photographic community.
Membership offers access to a diverse and supportive community of photographers and the opportunity to exhibit your work throughout the year. Member artists apply for exhibition space by presenting a specific proposal to our Portfolio Review Committee for approval.
Members participate actively on at least one committee or take on at least one on-going service commitment to the gallery, based on individual skills and interests.
Whom are We Seeking?
We look for artists with a clear and meaningful photographic vision, an appreciation for craft and a willingness to work with and for the gallery, We seek artists with a passion for photography.
We’re open to new ideas. Some of our members strive to re-imagine the meaning, value, and boundaries of photography, others to perfect a particular thread.

Before you apply for membership we suggest that you come to the gallery and talk with our members. You can contact us to set up a special appointment or just drop by during regular hours—members are always there.

The Application Process
Our Portfolio Review Committee considers new members the first Saturday of each month (except August.) See the list of dates below.
Drop off your print portfolio, completed artist membership application, and non-refundable $50 fee at the gallery at 10 am sharp on the review day or during our regular hours during the month prior to the Saturday review.
Please be at the gallery at 12:30 on review day. A Portfolio Review Committee member will sit down with you, let you know if you have been accepted and share the reactions, advice and insights of the committee.
