Studies of Gender in Western Art

Morgan Post, guest artist

Morgan grew up in Utah and from an early age was fascinated with photography. His current glass plate work uses the means and conventions of 19th century technology to create contrast and tension, which acts to highlight the social ethos of the rapidly evolving 21st. His infatuation with imagery regarding relationships, love, beauty and intimacy transcends many of America’s social norms and ideology.

Morgan has been a large format wet plate photographer and educator for the past seven years. Post earned an MFA degree from Utah State University and has worked extensively as a fine art and commercial photographer and digital artist in both Los Angeles and New York. He currently teaches at Long Island University, Brooklyn, the Center for Alternative Photography, and Fairfield University.
